Days like this!

Yep, it's true. If it's cold, cloudy or snowy (or all of the above), it just makes me want to cook and bake something. Or usually multiple somethings. There's nothing better on a cold, dreary day than a warm, wonderfully smelling kitchen. And the one thing that makes it even better?

One word.

Pinterest.

Yep, what did I ever do without that site?! Ahhh...it's amazing. There's so many ideas! Not only in regards to cooking and baking, but organizing and cleaning. And planning and color coding! And then for all the little kiddos I teach, yep, I've found some of the greatest and most fun ideas there. And....did you know that there's an Android/iPhone and iPad app too? THAT makes it EVEN better!

Ok, now that I got the "Ode to Pinterest" over with, back to the events of my day....

Such as today happened to be. You know, before the Pinterest tangent....the cold, dreary day that seems so much better with goodies baking in a delightfully smelling, warm kitchen. That day. Let's continue from that point....

Here's what happened in my kitchen today....

Doughnuts. For the first batch of these, I had the oil too hot, so they turned out a little bit too done.

But the second, third, fourth and fifth batch? Ahhh....yumminess!!! They didn't last long!

Homemade hot pockets with ham and cheese. The plan with these is to freeze them and send them with Luke to work for lunch.

In addition to the ham and cheese hot pockets, I also did pizza pockets.

All in all, it was a productive day in the kitchen!
