Empty shelves

There's just something to be said about empty shelves. It's SO nice! I've spent the last week going through a lot of my business supplies and class material. I have totes of fabric, project samples, teaching material and just odds and ins that haven't been touched in several years. And since my Floral Elegance class is finished, I decided some spring cleaning and organizing was in order. Plus I was needing more shelf space for my Bible teaching material.

Was I ever able to go through stuff and purge? Definitely! In sorting through totes, I discovered that I had about 6 years worth of class projects and samples that I've taught. That takes up a lot of room! I kept those things that I *might* teach in the future and got rid of the rest. I had several trash bags to throw away in addition to an entire pile of stuff to give away and another huge pile to sell on ebay and craigslist. For now, that pile is in my living room waiting to be photographed and listed, but it sure makes my downstairs shelves look so wonderful and inviting.

Now, how do I fill those empty shelves? ;)

Bright, sunny mornings!

Bright, sunny mornings do SO much to encourage me! It's hard to believe that something as common and ordinary as a bright blue sky with a warm sun can do so much to my attitude in the morning.

My goal for the past couple of months has been to get up earlier than I have been doing. Yeah, it's working. Kinda. Luke doesn't have to leave for work real early, I don't have any little ones running around demanding that I get up and since I work from home and don't have to be at work at a certain time, there are days that the temptation to stay cuddled up in bed next to my husband is just too great. I give in. And stay there, enjoying the warmth and laziness.

A few weeks ago, I was on a roll in getting up earlier. But then the time change happened. Getting up what seemed to my body an hour earlier in addition to darker mornings, just kinda ruined that roll I was on. Then we had a cold, blast of winter with snow and ice. This is March! It's supposed to be the beginning of spring! The cold winter blast didn't really encourage me to get out of bed any earlier.

But do you know what does? Blue skies. Bright sunny mornings. The look that spring is coming! The last two mornings have been just as I described and I'm fully ready to jump out of bed and enjoy the fact that it will soon be warm again!

Soft and dreamy!

Luke and I did an engagement session for a wedding we're shooting in April and I just love this photo. It's so soft. So dreamy. And so content. Ahhhhh!!!!
