It's just UPS, no big deal!

UPS or FedEx dropping off boxes at my front door is a common, everyday thing. When I started my business over six years ago, I had packages coming 3-4 days a week. I keep inventory, so it was a constant supply of coming and going. To me, it's commonplace. Not so much to my husband. In fact, when we first got married, he was all about dropping everything and opening up whatever box was delivered. Every. Single. Time.

He'd ask me, "What did you order?"

"Don't you want to open it?"

"You mean you're not going to even look inside?"

Then last week I had to smile when there were several boxes piled up at the front door. Luke carried them inside and just put them in a pile. Didn't really look at them. Didn't even ask me what was inside. Just piled them there and then went back to what he was working on. After 2 years, I think I'm finally rubbing off on him. I think I've robbed him of the get-a-box-in-the-mail excitement. :)

As a young girl, I do remember packages being delivered to our front door a big deal. The "stop what you're doing and see what's inside" BIG deal. Many times it was just school books, but those boxes were still fun to open. In fact, when I lived in Kansas, my current UPS driver was the same one who delivered those BIG boxes of school books. He remembered my sisters and I getting excited to get those big boxes. He is a great guy. I rarely requested UPS pickups as he would stop and pick up my packages if he saw them sitting on the front porch. One of the great advantages of living in a small farming community!
