It's just a sister thing! ;)

My sisters are special. We grew up together. We know each other well. How we think. What we do. Our styles. Our likes and dislikes. Our habits. What we eat and drink. (My husband does too....but that's not the point of this post! ;))

First, you have to know that we all happened to get married a year apart. Ryan and Krissa in 2010. Luke and I in 2011. Russell and Jena this year. A major event for the past three years. Knowing that, we seem to think that the next major event in our lives should follow the same pattern.

Krissa started the wedding trend two years ago. And she also started the baby trend a year ago. (Well, maybe not a trend; she's the only one!) Last July, I recall her texting me, asking me for Grandma's mailing address. At that exact point, I suspected that she had a baby announcement to make. Yep, I was right! A package arrived in the mail a few days later announcing just that!

So now, with each and every comment or expression (whether verbal or typed), we seem to be guessing which one of us will be next with a baby announcement. It's just a mental thing for which we keep our eyes or rather, ears (since we live miles apart!), open.

Such as this conversation this weekend.....

It was in regard to family photos. We are all headed home to Dad's at the end of the month and Dad wanted to take family pics since the ones in his house were from before Luke and I were married. My sisters and I were talking, deciding what to do, when I made the comment, "I was planning to wait a little bit longer to take new family pics."

My thought was that in a few years, with all of us just married, there's a good chance there will be additions to our families. I mean yes, we've added Russell, Jena's husband and then Landon was born to Ryan and Krissa, but my guess would be that more additions will be coming in the next few years.

Immediately, my sisters picked up on that and Krissa asked, "Is there a reason YOU wanted to wait longer to take photos? Is there any announcement coming???"

Then Jena said, "Yeah, I told Russell that I was going to see if Serena is drinking diet mountain dew when we're home and then I'll know!"

Then Krissa, "That's the first thing I think when she says she's been so tired or been sick. I'm just expecting something."

Lol! Yep, that's true. Even miles apart it might be hard to keep that a secret. Can you imagine if we lived close together?

We're sisters! It's just a sister thing! And it probably won't stop anytime soon! :)

AND just so you know, nope, no announcement.
